About Overland Park
Overland Park is the second largest city in Kansas with a rapidly growing population currently at almost 170,000. Even though just 50 years old, it is one of the youngest cities in the nation. Overland Park is in thriving Johnson County, located in the southwestern part of the Kansas City metro.
The city has steadily built a popular reputation as one of the nation’s most dynamic corporate centers. More than 3,800 companies call Overland Park home and it's the headquarters of major employers such as Sprint and Black & Veatch.
This is a fabulous city where workers and residents enjoy a beautiful and safe suburban setting, plus excellent restaurants, fine shopping, miles of walking/biking trails and highly-ranked educational institutions.
Overland Park is often recognized with national awards and business and quality of life rankings. It was featured in Money magazine’s “Top 10 Best Places to Live” in 2008. The March 2005 issue of Expansion Management named Overland Park as one of America’s “Best Places to Live and Work” and also rated the city a “Five-Star Community.” Johnson County’s quality of life quotient was ranked seventh among all 3,150 U.S. counties by American City Business Journal.
